Many Lives, Many Masters by Dr Brian Weiss

I could connect with this book as some of the information that has been shared in this book, tallies with some views of a religious philosopher I know.

In Many Lives, Many Masters, the author Dr Brian Weiss shares his experiences which he had while conducting Regression Analysis with one of his patients called Catherine.
Catherine was suffering from recurring nightmares & chronic anxiety attacks. He had been working with Catherine for eighteen months but when his traditional methods of therapy failed, Dr Brian Weiss turned to hypnosis & was astonished & skeptical when Catherine began recalling past-life traumas which seemed to hold the key to her problems.
Dr Weiss’s skepticism was eroded when Catherine began to channel messages from “the space between lives”, which contained remarkable revelations about his own life. Acting as a channel for information from highly evolved spirit entities called the Masters, Catherine revealed many secrets of life and death. Some of the revelations are as follows –
“Our task is to learn, to become God-like through knowledge. By knowledge we approach God & then we can rest. Then we come back to teach & help others.”

“We are given intuitive powers we should follow and not try to resist. Those who resist will meet with danger. We are not sent back from each plane with equal powers. Some of us possess powers greater than others, because they have been accrued from other times. Thus people are not at all created equal. But eventually we will reach a point where we will all be equal.”

“People who are in comas are in a state of suspension. They are not ready yet to cross into the other plane until they have decided whether they want to cross or not. Only they can decide this. If they feel they have no more learning in physical state then they are allowed to cross over. But if they have more learning, then they must come back, even if they do not want to. That is a rest period for them, a time when their mental powers can rest.”

“Life is endless, so we never die; we were never really born. We just pass through different phases. There is no end. Humans have many dimensions. But time is not as we see time, but rather in lessons that are learned.”

Catherine’s regressions spanned millennia. From prehistoric caves to ancient Egypt to modern times, she had been there. She had had eighty six lifetimes.

This fascinating case dramatically altered the lives of Catherine and Dr Weiss, and provides important information on the mysteries of the mind, the continuation of life after death and the influence of our past life experiences on our present behavior.
